Dine - Restaurant Week

A couple of times a year Restaurant Week is organized in Shanghai. In 1 week both lower and high end restaurant create a 3 course set menu for a fixed price. Especially for the high-end restaurants this can be a good deal. Where you normally would pay up to 500RMB a person, you can go now for 250RMB (no drinks included). So me and my boyfriend decided to choose 2 nice restaurants to go to.
First we went to Kathleen's 5 rooftop restaurant. A nice place next to People's Park with a nice view on People's Square.
My menu for the night looked like this:
Starter
Frisee and Arugula Salad with Iberico Ham
Semi-Dried tomato, Parmesan, Fig Balsamico
Main course
Herb Roast 100% Black Face Lamb Rump
Roasted Potato, Seared Mushrooms, Balsamic Red Wine Sauce, Cucumber Yogurt Sauce
Dessert
Triple Layer Chocolate Cheese Cake
Chocolate Crunch and Strawberry Sauce

My boyfriend choose these dishes:
Starter
Porcini Mushroom Gnocchetti (Vegetarian)
Hand Cut Potato Dumplings, Mushrooms, Mild Garlic, White Wine Sauce
Main course
North River Australia, Natural Grass Fed Beef (100g), Jumbo Prawns, Citrus Sauce
Potatoes, Asparagus, French Beans, Arugula, Sardinian Pecorino Cheese, Red Wine Sauce
Dessert
Seasonal Fresh Fruit with Sorbet

On Saturday night we went to the Bund to go to Shook! A Malaysian cuisine restaurant, even though the food wasn't really Malaysian I think. We entered in a very nice corridor that had floor to ceiling glass panels with hundreds of wine bottles behind. Very impressive entrance. When we sat down at our table we got some bread and special homemade butter. The service was exquisite.

My dinner for that night:

Ricotta Cheese, Fresh Herbs, Grana Padano, Mascarpone Cream
Main course
TASTING OF AUSTRALIAN WAGYU BEEF
Braised With Potato Puree, Asparagus, Butter Poached Shallot Grilled With Mushroom Purée, Spinach, Roasted Garlic, Cabernet Reduction

Valrhona Chocolate Soufflé
Wild Berry Crumble

Both restaurants were really good, but the food and service were a lot better at Shook! They have also a good brunch deal in the weekend, so I'm definitely going back there!
